In the Catalog Templates selection box, you can set the options for Enabled and Visible.
Enabled
This option activates or deactivates the registration.
Unchecked: it is as if the registration had been deleted from the system or never existed; old projects will no longer be able to load this model. Additionally, registrations that use it as default will display the message model not available when opened in the 3D Environment.
Checked: it will work and load normally, meaning it will load the item/model normally without any restriction, it will appear in the environment and load as expected.
IMPORTANT: this option does not control visibility in the models menu, but if disabled it will also not be shown for selection or set as default.
Visible
This option is solely responsible for allowing the model to be displayed for selection in the Models tab on the Properties screen.
This Visible option does NOT control:
Even with the Visible unchecked option, if the model is set as default or applied through some reprocessing, it will be used normally. For example, if a piece of furniture has this model as default, when inserted into the 3D environment, the model will be applied and appear in the models section of the properties window.
However, the client will not be able to select it manually. If they switch to another model, they will not be able to choose the one with the Visible option unchecked again, as it was configured to be unavailable for user selection. It can be applied automatically by registration, formulas, or reprocessing, but never by direct user choice in the Models menu on the Properties screen.
Scenarios
Scenario 01 - Option Visible checked and option Enabled also checked:
And if there is no other registration that removes/blocks the model, it will be displayed in the Models section of the Properties screen as in the previous image for user selection.
Scenario 02 - Option Visible unchecked and option Enabled checked:
The model can be inserted by registration, formulas, and reprocessing, but not by the user as it will not be listed for selection in the models section of the properties window.
Notes - Model Registration
In the model registration we have some items with the symbol:: Model
: Model Type
: Associated Model Type
Learn more about Models here.
IMPORTANT:
Models with the option Enabled unchecked are not loaded; this also applies to Type or Associated Type. When inserted in the environment, the model is displayed invisible.
The Enabled unchecked option on a Type or Associated Type does not impact its children. To disable only the children without affecting the entire model, each Associated Type must be deactivated individually. When inserted in the environment, the item may appear invisible, blue, or with the default gray texture, depending on the combination of active/inactive items and the complexity of the registration.
To remove, block, or filter a model for a specific module, the Removal option should be used; learn more here and here. Or create specific model registrations for that module. The Enabled and Visible options affect all modules that use or reference the model; they are not applicable individually per module.
Examples
Example 01
When loading a project with a model existing, enabled, and visible: the component loads normally.
Example 02
When loading a project with a non-existing model, for example a deleted model: the module component with the non-existent model will open with the blue color and transparency default.
When updating the module (Ctrl + Shift + L), the model will be replaced by the first visible and enabled one. If there is no visible and enabled model, the message Not available is displayed in the Tools Panel - Models.
Example 03
When loading a project with a model existing, enabled and not visible: the module component will open with the saved model. However, when updating the module (Ctrl + Shift + L), it will have its model replaced by the first visible and enabled one. If there is no visible and enabled model, it will be replaced by the default with blue color and transparency.
Example 04
When loading a project with a model existing, not enabled, and visible: the module component will open with the blue color and transparency default. When updating the module (Ctrl + Shift + L), the model will be replaced by the first visible and enabled one. If there is no visible and enabled model, the message Not available is displayed.
Example 05
When loading a project with a model existing, not enabled, and not visible: the module component will open with the blue color and transparency default. When updating the module (Ctrl + Shift + L), the model will be replaced by the first visible and enabled one. If there is no visible and enabled model, the message Not available is displayed.
