Promob allows you to create new colors by editing existing materials. To check, click on one of the options:
Base color
To create a base color:
1. Select the environment item where the new color will be applied and go to the Tools - Properties panel. Click on the Materials tab, in the Color category go to Base Color.
2. On the Color screen, make the desired adjustments:
- Click the mouse to select one of the color options;
- Move the selection control to set the color shade or enter the RGB code of the desired color in the Red, Green and Blue properties;
3. The new color is applied to the wall.
IMPORTANT: To apply the new color to items in other projects, go to the Materials tab and find the Project tab, add the color as a favorite material.
Creating complementary colors
With the Complementary Colors tool you can define a color and find out which colors are complementary, i.e. which colors go best with the chosen color. The tool also allows you to choose from a range of tones that vary from cooler to warmer, lighter to darker.
1. Select the environment item where the new color will be applied and go to the Tools - Properties panel. Click on the Materials tab, in the Color category go to Complementary Colors.
2. In the Complementary Colors - Chromatic Circle window, set:
Hue: select the color combination.
The options are:
- Primary: these are colors that cannot be obtained from other colors;
- Complementary: Complementary colors are colors that look more vivid next to each other and stand out more than on their own. Each color has a complementary color that is diametrically opposite it on the color wheel (by tracing a diameter, it is the one on the opposite side). Complementary colors are used to give strength and balance to a work by creating contrasts;
- Triangle1: allows you to make combinations with three complementary colors;
- Triangle2: allows you to make combinations with three complementary colors;
- Rectangle: allows you to make combinations with four complementary colors;
- Pentagon: allows you to make combinations with five complementary colors.
Variation: select the color tone.
The options are:
- Cooler: cool colors tend towards blue and shades between green, blue and violet;
- Warmer: warm colors tend towards yellow and its shades, such as orange and reddish;
- Darker: the tones vary from the selected color to black;
- Lighter: the shades vary from the selected color to white;
- Less saturation: saturation is related to the amount of a certain color present in the mixture.
Size: set the number of colors to be displayed. The number can vary from one to twenty;
Reference: note that the black dot and the white dots can be moved to generate other complementary color combinations. Note that the color inserted in the environment is the same as the one in Reference;
Components: define the scale of the primary colors (red, green and blue);
3. Mix the colors as desired and click OK to display the new color in the project item.
