Files .dxf contain information that can be read by different CAD programs. Promob Cut Pro has a web service that allows the generation of these files. In this way, it is necessary to have an internet connection to be able to generate such files.
To configure the Layers of DXF files, click here.
To configure .dxf files, click on the Export Settings menu, or on the Generate Documents menu, as shown in the image below:
By clicking on Generate Documents, the following window will be enabled. In the Engineering category, you can view the DXF 3D or 2D Files option (the DXF Files option will only be available after joining the DFX Exporter plugin), and further down there is the Export Settings button:
The following screen will be displayed:
For both 3D and 2D DXF, the following layers will be displayed:
- Panel: defines with which layer name and with which color the panel will be represented;
- Pieces: defines with which layer name and with which color the shapes will be represented;
- Slots: defines with which layer name and with which color the slots will be represented;
- Drilling: defines with which layer name and with which color the holes will be represented;
- Machining: define with which layer name and which color the machining will be represented;
-
Leftovers: defines with which layer name and with which color the leftovers will be represented.
- External trims: defines with which layer name and with which color the external trimming will be represented.
In addition to layers, you can configure the following settings:
1. Color: Defines the color the layer will be represented in the DXF.
2. Generate: Only layers with this option enabled will be generated in the DXF file.
3, Face Prioritization: Defines which face of the part will be shown in the DXF file. For more information click here.
4. Distinguish internal and external slots layers: When checking this option, the internal and external slots of the parts will be differentiated. (I=Internal; E=External)
IMPORTANT - DRILLING: The holes and slots will be grouped in different layers as per your specifications. The holes will be grouped in different layers according to diameter and depth. The slots will be grouped according to depth. In addition to being grouped by Internal or External, checking option 4 indicates in the previous image.
IMPORTANT - MACHINING: The machining will be grouped into different layers according to their type (rectangular, circular, or parametric). In the case of rectangular machining, they will be grouped into different layers based on depth, width, height, and diameter. For circular machining, they will be grouped into different layers based on diameter and depth, and for parametric ones, they will be grouped into different layers based on their shape (if they have identical shape) and depth.
5. Generate top face's features: When this option is checked, only top features will be displayed in the DXF, that is, features on the sides of the faces will be displayed.
6. Include hole depth on layer: In 3D DXF it is possible to define whether the depth measurement will be displayed in the layer name.
Example with the field unchecked:
HOLES_LAYER_DIAMETER
HOLES_LAYER_5
Example with field marked:
HOLES_LAYER_DIAMETER_DEPTH
HOLES_LAYER_5_8
7. Include groove dimension on layer: In DXF 3D, it is possible to define whether the depth measurement will be displayed in the layer name and the slot dimensions in the layer name.
Example with the field unchecked:
SLOTS_LAYER
Example with field marked:
SLOTS_LAYER_WIDTH_DEPTH
SLOTS_LAYER_5_8
To access the DXF 2D option, simply change the tab, as shown in the image:
With the settings made, select the Save option.
IMPORTANT: The options Slots and Holes will be available only for users of Promob Cut Pro + Plugin Editor, Promob Cut Pro without the Plugin Editor, does not provide information on holes and tears.
Below is an example where the machining is represented by yellow geometries, the drilling in red, and the slots in green:
